2026 Events
More Than Events — A Movement in Motion
Big things are coming in 2026.
What started as one man’s recovery journey aboard a sailboat has grown into a real-world mission to bring people together through connection, purpose, and shared experience in sobriety.
Next year, The Sober Sailor will be hosting two signature community events:
🏕️ Second Annual DDA / Sober Sailor Campout
Location: Sand Island (Columbia River)
Date: To Be Announced
After the incredible success of our first campout, we’re bringing it back bigger, better, and even more meaningful.
This event is all about:
• Fellowship and connection in recovery
• Outdoor adventure and shared meals
• Campfire meetings and real conversations
• Creating memories that remind us why sobriety is worth it
Whether you’re brand new to recovery or years into the journey, this campout is about showing up exactly as you are and leaving a little stronger than you came.
🎣 First Annual Fishing for Recovery Event & Fundraiser
Location: To Be Announced
Date: To Be Announced
This will be our very first Fishing for Recovery event — and it’s something I’ve dreamed about for a long time.
The mission:
• Take people in recovery out on the water
• Teach basic fishing skills and boating safety
• Create a peaceful, purpose-driven day on the river
• Raise funds to support recovery programs and future events
This event will combine adventure, healing, and community into one unforgettable day.
💙 Why These Events Matter
These events aren’t just trips or fundraisers.
They are lifelines.
They give people in recovery something to look forward to.
They create safe spaces to connect without judgment.
They remind us that life after addiction can be full, adventurous, and meaningful.
Every dollar raised, every share, every bit of support goes directly into making these experiences possible.
